Travis Kelce Files 5 New Trademarks

Kansas City Chiefs football star Travis Kelce recently filed for five trademarks in his home state of Ohio, including his Instagram handle, name, and others. There is some speculation that Kelce’s new girlfriend, megastar and entrepreneur, Taylor Swift, had something to do with the decision, but that has not been confirmed. 

The goal of filing the trademarks is for Kelce to be able to use them for merchandise. Along with his name and Instagram handle, he filed to trademark his catchphrase, an option using his jersey number, and another term, "Kelce's Krunch."

All the trademarks included information on how they would be used, including being placed on jerseys, bobbleheads, socks, buttons, posters, shirts, and sweatpants for sale to the public. It looks like the Kelce's Krunch trademark will be used as the name for a breakfast cereal. Kelce is a Super Bowl winner twice over, but the recent business moves are something new for him. Since he began a romance with Swift, though, interest in him and his football playing prowess has really skyrocketed

Swift was seen cheering Kelce on for the very first time September 24, 2023, and the sales of his jerseys rose 400%. According to sources close to the couple, their relationship is turning serious and they're spending a lot of time together. That's led to rumors that Swift is helping her new boyfriend navigate his increasing fame, by capitalizing on the interest his fans, and hers, are showing in him.

Both Kelce and Swift are goal-driven, focused, hardworking people, though, so it may not be entirely Swift's encouragement that's leading Kelce to make these business moves. It's also possible that Kelce planned these moves before he started dating Swift, and they just happened to coincide with their romance.

Either way, two things are clear. Kelce has new trademarks that will give him options to increase what he offers to the public, and he and Swift are continuing to develop their relationship and increase the time they're spending with one another. That's giving a lot of enjoyment to fans of the couple, and helping them both stay in the public eye.
